Snack, Nibble, Pick

Hi again!

I am going to try to keep this one short.  One of the key ingredients to shrinking that pant size is to actually eat more.  Yes you heard me correctly, eat more! 

You should definitely eat between meals, this will keep your stomach busy so that when you do get to lunch and dinner you don't consume 2-3 helpings including your plate.  This will actually help to shrink your stomach as well.  As I learned with my horses, eat less more often was the rule of thumb.

Now when I say snacking, maybe snacking on a big bag of potato chips is not the answer.  Stick to fruits and veggies, get some whole grain granola bars, yogurt is a great nutritional snack!

Throw a few of these items in your lunch bag tomorrow to keep you going until dinner time, and by all means have a snack after dinner if you please, just keep it small so that your body has time to break it down before bed time.   Also, take something different every day so that you don't get bored...unless of course you like that one thing every day, then go nuts!

  • Fruit - get some fresh berries and mix them together, very delicious
  • Veggies - make veggies with some ranch dip on the site
  • Granola bars - I like the Fibre 1 bars or the nature valley bars
  • Cheese
  • Yogurt 
  • popcorn - popcorn from the movies does not count, adding a pound a butter is not good for anyone, try the president's choice 30% less sodium popcorn.  That is my favourite!
  • Nuts - Almonds are really good for you as they are filled with loads of calcium!
There are tons of options! Just try to eat more often and keep drinking water!  If it's getting boring then spice it up! Put some raspberries in it, add some lemon or lime.
