How is everyone's bladder doing? Have you had to run to the washroom every 10 minutes? If so keep it up! Your body is naturally flushing out toxins that hold onto those nasty pounds, plus by drinking so much water, you are actually creating a natural appetite supressant. Your tummy will now feel full keeping you from snacking or over eating at meals.
What are you cooking for dinner tonight? Here is what I will be having, one of my favourites, Taco Salad!
Don't come home from work and break out the kraft dinner, this is just as simple and so much better for your waistline!
First, pick up some lettuce, the greener the better of course so don't be afraid to pick up some spinach salad for this dish. The beauty is that you can add what ever you like and I promise it will still taste great.
Most taco salads call for ground beef, but I use ground turkey because it is leaner. If you are vegetarian, pick up some if Ives ground round, it's delicious and works very well in this dish.
I put tomatoes, black olives and a yellow, green or red pepper for more colour, but you can add as many different vegetables as you like! Treat vegetables as 0 points/0lbs and eat as many as you like! Like water, they will fill you up and you burn more calories eating them as your body has to work much harder to break them down.
Fry up the ground meat in a pan, adding 1 package of taco seasoning; in a large salad bowl add lettuce and veggies, grate 1 cup of cheese (any kind you like, I use marble or cheddar), and crunch one or two handfuls of mulitgrain tostitos into the mix. Add your meat and toss it up!
Once served, I use medium salsa and a small dollop (don't go too crazy) of ranch dressing for flavour.
This meal will satisfy you and your family!
Enjoy and keep drinking water! Even before bed...yes you might wake up at 3am...it's just calories leaving your system so be happy!
